U.S. embassies around the world are tasked with representing the interests of the United States through diplomatic means. The Embassy in Brussels is dedicated to bringing youth from different backgrounds together to engage in dialogue as a means of nurturing mutual understanding and respect.
MWG has been tasked to bring youth from marginalized communities together from Atlanta and Brussels to celebrate the sacrifice of eleven Black soldiers killed during World War II. During this week of interaction, these youth will examine the factors that lead to religious intolerance, racism, and sexism. Their goal is to determine what tools they can develop to help other youth develop coping mechanisms and advocacy strategies that will ensure they will seek to overcome social obstacles through peaceful means rather than resorting to antisocial behavior and violent extremism.
